Job Responsibilities

- Optimize and validate tissue culture potato protocols.
- perform experiments on potato tissue culture.
- Ensure proper labelling, storage, and waste management.
- Ensure multiplication of disease-free, true-to-type planting materials in aseptic conditions of potato crops.
- keep potato mother stock and in vitro cultures.
- Properly manage and dispose of biological waste safely.
- Ensure sterilization, contamination control, and quality standards.
- keep equipment, reagents, and laboratory records.
- Train technicians, students, and interns in potato tissue culture techniques.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, biosafety, and phytosanitary regulations.
- Analyze data and produce technical reports.
- Ensure acclimatization, weaning, and handling of glasshouse experiments of potato crops.
- assist the scale-up of potato planting materials for research.
- assist laboratory inventory management.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Crop Production – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Crop Science – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Biotechnology – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biochemistry – 5 Years of relevant experience.
