Reports To: Plant & Microbial Biotechnology Program Coordinator / Senior Principal Research Fellow

Job Responsibilities

- perform routine molecular laboratory procedures with minimum supervision.
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, electrophoresis, and other related molecular biology techniques.
- produce reagents, media, buffers, and laboratory consumables according to established protocols.
- deliver technical assist to researchers and other laboratory personnel.
- Assist with the development and optimization of new laboratory protocols.
- Operate and keep molecular biology equipment and ensure proper functioning.
- keep laboratory records, sample tracking systems, and databases.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), biosafety, and quality assurance requirements.
- Analyze laboratory data and produce technical reports.
- Ensure effective and efficient management of resources and assets under responsibility.
- assist laboratory inventory management.
- Ensure timely planning, requisition, and procurement of laboratory materials, consumables, and equipment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Biotechnology – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology – 5 Years of relevant experience.
