Aquaculture and Fisheries Program Coordinator Senior Research Fellow

Job responsibilities

• Supervise and organize all hatchery activities including broodstock management, spawning, egg incubation and fry rearing
• create and execute hatchery production plans and schedules
• track and keep optimal water quality and environmental conditions
• Ensure proper feeding programs and health management protocols for fish stocks
• oversee hatchery staff and deliver training and supervision to enhance productivity
• Oversee biosecurity and disease prevention measures to ensure fish health
• keep records of fish growth, production performance and operational data
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Plan and oversee hatchery budget, procurement of feed and equipment, and resource allocation
• perform research and execute improvements to enhance hatchery efficiency and sustainability

Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Aquaculture - 3 Years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Aquaculture - 5 Years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries - 5 Years of relevant experience
Master’s Degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries - 3 Years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries - 5 Years of relevant experience
Master’s Degree in Fisheries - 3 Years of relevant experience

Required competencies and key technical skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Leadership and management skills
Extensive understanding of national and international aquaculture and fisheries contexts and ability to assist research agenda development
Knowledge of aquaculture technologies, water systems design (RAS), fish health and nutrition
Hands-on skills in aquaculture production systems, water quality management, fish health and nutrition
