Kivu Choice is Rwanda’s largest protein producer and one of the fastest-growing aquaculture companies in Africa. Founded in 2022, Kivu Choice is the sister company to Victory Farms, East Africa’s leading aquaculture platform based in Kenya. The company operates a fully vertically integrated aquaculture model, encompassing hatchery operations, cage-based grow-out, processing, distribution, and sales. Kivu Choice is also one of the country’s largest employers with over 700 employees, and plans to grow to 1,200 employees within the next three years, reflecting its strong commitment to job creation and inclusive economic development. Over the next five years, Kivu Choice aims to scale into Africa’s largest and most sustainable protein producer, producing and distributing 30,000 tons of fish annually for the Rwandan market and for export across the region.

Job Purpose:

The Talent Operations Officer provides the operational and administrative backbone of the Talent Development function. This role ensures seamless execution of recruitment coordination, onboarding and off boarding administration, learning and development logistics, and performance management processes. The position plays a critical role in supporting a rapidly scaling workforce by ensuring people processes are timely, accurate, compliant, and employee-centered.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Hiring Coordination

  • Post job advertisements and oversee applicant tracking systems.
  • Screen CVs against defined criteria.
  • organize interviews, assessments, and candidate communication.
  • produce offer letters and employment contracts.
  • keep accurate recruitment trackers and hiring documentation.

2. Onboarding & Off boarding Administration

  • organize onboarding schedules, induction sessions, and system access.
  • Ensure onboarding documentation is completed within the first three working days.
  • Track probation evaluate timelines.
  • oversee structured off boarding processes and clearance documentation.
  • keep accurate and compliant employee files.

3. Learning & Development Coordination

  • oversee logistics for internal and external trainings.
  • Track attendance and keep training records.
  • Administer evaluation forms and compile summaries.
  • assist onboarding program scheduling and materials coordination.

4. Performance Management Administration

  • Track performance evaluate cycles and submission deadlines.
  • Follow up with managers on overdue reviews.
  • keep records of objectives, check-ins, and annual reviews.
  • assist calibration preparation and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field. 
  • 1–3 years of experience in a Human Resources or HR administrative/assist role. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, especially relevant for a scaling, mission-driven company like Kivu Choice. 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to oversee multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a process-oriented approach. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and oversee multiple priorities
