FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

ABOUT THE ROLE

Capitalist SL Rwanda is an international freight forwarding, supply, and logistics company headquartered in Kigali. We specialise in air freight, sea freight, customs clearance, product sourcing, and supply chain coordination, connecting Rwanda and DRC (Goma, Bukavu) to markets in China, Dubai, Turkey, India, Egypt, and Malaysia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Financial Accountant & Company Secretary is tasked with all financial records, accounting, tax compliance, and company secretarial duties at Capitalist SL Rwanda. This person ensures the Company is financially organised, legally compliant, and well administered at all times.

ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

keep accurate and up-to-date financial records for all Company income, expenses, and transactions.

produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

Process all invoices, receipts, payments, and disbursements — local and international.

oversee accounts payable and receivable — follow up on outstanding payments and client invoices.

produce and track the Company budget — flag variances and report to management.

oversee petty cash, staff allowances, and office expenditure.

TAX, COMPLIANCE & CUSTOMS LIAISON

produce and file all required tax returns with Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) — VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and withholding tax — on time and accurately.

Liaise with RRA, customs brokers, and clearing agents to ensure timely and compliant clearance of cargo and tax obligations.

Ensure the Company is registered and compliant with all applicable Rwandan tax and legal requirements.

Stay up to date on changes in Rwandan tax law and advise management accordingly.

COMPANY SECRETARIAL & HR ADMINISTRATION

keep and organise all official Company documents — certificates, licences, contracts, agreements, and official correspondence.

Track renewal dates for company registration, trade licences, and all statutory obligations — zero expired documents.

assist the Country Manager with RDB filings, regulatory submissions, and official documentation.

produce contracts, MOUs, and official letters as directed by management.

oversee HR administration: employee records, payroll processing, leave tracking, and contract documentation.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA-Rwanda (CPA-R) qualification is a strong advantage.

Minimum 6 years of accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of Rwandan tax law, RRA requirements, and financial compliance.

Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.

25+ years old and more.

Organised, reliable, and able to meet strict reporting and compliance deadlines.
