The company provides technology and IT outsourcing solutions tailored to Microsoft environments, with expertise across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Windows Commercial, and Microsoft Office 365.

Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours:Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Finance guide to independently oversee the Company's routine accounting, tax compliance, payroll, project costing, and local finance administration.

The Finance guide will work closely with the Kigali team and HQ Finance & Operations functions to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with applicable Rwanda requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to independently perform core finance activities and possess a sound academic and professional understanding of more complex financial and tax concepts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Independently oversee full-cycle accounting, including:
    • Journal entries.
    • Accounts payable and receivable.
    • Accruals and bank reconciliations.
    • Fixed asset records and depreciation.
  • oversee month-end closing and preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • keep accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • produce schedules and information for management, audit, and statutory purposes.

2. Tax, Invoice & Payroll Compliance

  • Independently oversee routine Rwanda finance and compliance matters, including:
    • VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and other applicable statutory obligations.
    • Invoice and supporting document compliance.
    • Payroll records, statutory deductions, and employer contributions.
    • Tax filing deadlines, supporting documentation, and statutory records.
  • organize with the Rwanda Revenue Authority, auditors, and external tax advisors.
  • evaluate the accounting and basic tax treatment of revenue and expense transactions and detect potential tax benefits or exposures.

3. Project Costing & Financial Control

  • keep project and cost center records.
  • Track and allocate direct and indirect costs.
  • produce project costing, profitability analysis, and budget-versus-actual reporting.
  • assist cash-flow forecasting and management reporting.
  • detect financial control or compliance issues and report them to management or relevant HQ functions.

4. Financial Administration & External Coordination

  • produce payment documentation and keep finance records in accordance with company policies.
  • assist the implementation of finance SOPs and internal controls.
  • Act as the primary local finance contact for banks, auditors, accounting firms, and tax advisors.
  • organize with external advisors on tax, accounting, and regulatory matters and follow up on agreed actions.
  • produce information and supporting documents requested by HQ or external advisors.

5. Finance & Tax Knowledge

The candidate should have a sound understanding of finance and tax principles and be able to recognize relevant issues, understand their potential implications, and escalate matters where necessary.

Knowledge should include:

  • Cross-border transactions and foreign exchange.
  • Profit repatriation and related financial considerations.
  • Transfer pricing and related-party transactions.
  • Intercompany arrangements and cost allocation.
  • Relevant tax, foreign exchange, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
  • Practical experience with Rwanda tax compliance, payroll, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience in project costing, cost allocation, or profitability analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software or ERP systems and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and oversee routine finance operations in a start-up environment.
  • Partial completion of ACCA, CPA, or another recognized professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
  • Experience in IT, technology, outsourcing, or professional services is an advantage
  • Local Language:Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • English:Strong professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
