Position Summary

Position Purpose is to Support the Finance Team to ensure accurate bookkeeping, budget formulation, financial analysis, monitoring, reporting and accounting/budget execution across assigned field districts. Provide financial advisory support to field officers and help maintain strong financial controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and file all financial documents (cash advances, requests, receipts) to ensure records are audit-ready and readily available.
  • Update finance systems with timely and accurate financial data; participate in monthly Sage project reconciliations.
  • Support budgeting, budget tracking and implementation of financial policies; act as finance business partner to assigned field offices.
  • Reconcile staff advances, petty cash and project-specific accounts (monthly) and manage weekly staff advance activity.
  • Post journal entries (JE), manage fuel accountability and government official payment records.
  • Receive, log and verify invoices before entry; process invoices via the procurement module and follow up on vendor disputes.
  • Review and reconcile project activity accountability; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversee individual accounts for assigned field officers and follow up on outstanding accountability.
  • Review mobile-money transactions for compliance; initiate payments via Beyonic, verifying beneficiaries, and flagging variances.
  • Report any non-compliant financial practices to the Senior Finance Officer or Senior Finance & Admin Manager.
  • Recommend improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and cost savings; provide financial guidance to staff to ensure adherence to procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Accounting & Finance, Business Administration (Accounting) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance management or audit.
  • Practical experience with mobile money payment solutions is essential.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Sage or similar) is an advantage.
  • CPA/ACCA partial or full qualification is an advantage.

Technical & Personal Skills

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and data privacy principles.
  • High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and business service orientation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to field districts.
