Director of Medical Equipement and Infrastructure Development Unit

Job responsibilities

Install, inspect, keep, calibrate, and repair biomedical and medical equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software-related equipment faults.

perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment.

Test equipment to ensure it is safe, accurate, and functioning according to manufacturer specifications.

keep equipment service records, maintenance schedules, and inventory documentation.

assist the procurement, installation, commissioning, and replacement of medical equipment.

Train healthcare workers on the correct and safe use of biomedical equipment.

organize with equipment suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers when specialized repairs are required.

Ensure biomedical equipment complies with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Inspect newly purchased equipment before it is put into clinical use.

track equipment performance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacement where necessary.

help with developing preventive-maintenance plans and equipment-management procedures.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and service requests.

keep tools, spare parts, and technical documentation.

Promote safe working practices when handling medical and electrical equipment.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering

3 Years of relevant experience

Master's Degree in Clinical Engineering

3 Years of relevant experience

Master' degree in Healthcare technology with experience in Bio-medical maintenance

3 Years of relevant experience

Required competencies and key technical skills

Understanding the field of biomedical engineering and its contribution to effective healthcare services

Understand technology assessment and ensure availability of proper specification of biomedical equipment

Ability to collaborate with the hospital based biomedical technicians to create long term maintenance plan that will allow sustainability and continuous use of medical equipment

Knowledge of biomedical engineering principles
