Job Responsibilities

- guide the implementation of the Rwanda Smart City Master Plan.
- Oversee smart city technology selection, best practices, and common frameworks to accelerate the adoption of IoT for efficient and scalable smart city solutions.
- oversee the deliverables of all smart city projects, including costs, resources, and solution providers/vendors.
- Drive and increase the adoption of IoT across various sectors as outlined in the Smart City Master Plan.
- Take a proactive approach in identifying potential issues, recommending and implementing preventive solutions before issues arise.
- Keep abreast of the latest technologies, smart city trends, and statutory updates that may affect the implementation of the Smart City Master Plan.
- evaluate smart city proposals and deliver technical guidance.
- Translate the City of Kigali's services and technical discussions into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Research, build, test, and document state-of-the-art IoT solutions with integrated electronics and firmware development.
- Execute testing of IoT pilot solutions.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other smart city stakeholders.
- produce and assist smart city project budgets and concept notes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
