Expression of interest for qualified local Rwandan service providers to supply a Geotechnical Engineering Software Suite and Technical assist for Trinity Metals

Trinity Metals (Trinity Nyakabingo mines ,Trinity Rutongo mines and Trinity Musha mines Limited) invites Expressions of Interest from qualified software service providers to supply a comprehensive geotechnical engineering software suite across its mining operations. The assignment is intended to deliver advanced 3D numerical modelling, stability analysis, and data interpretation tools to assist the continued stability and safety of surface and underground mining infrastructure.

Scope of Work

The scope of the software provision and technical assist includes, but is not limited to, the

following:

• Provision of multi-seat annual lease licenses for 3D finite element analysis (FEA) software or integrated suite capable of:
  • Evaluating soil and rock mechanics, 3D excavation design, tunnelling, assist design, and groundwater seepage.
  • 3D stability analysis software for evaluating underground excavations in jointed rock and modelling intersecting rock wedges.
  • Graphical and statistical analysis tools for orientation-based geological data, stereonet plotting, and kinematic analysis of rock slopes.
  • Analysis of rock and soil strength data, failure criteria evaluation, and material property determination.
  • Integration of data from geological and mine planning software for numerical model building
• Delivery of software licenses via a Cloud/Online License management system, with full administrative privileges granted to Trinity Metals for independent user management. Local servers and physical dongles will not be accepted.
• Provision of ongoing updates and maintenance, including major version releases and minor patches.
• Comprehensive technical assist covering software functionality, bug resolution, and license troubleshooting, with a guaranteed initial response time of 1 to 2 business days.

Eligibility and Competency Requirements

Interested parties must:

• Be an established developer or authorized provider of globally recognized geotechnical engineering software, with demonstrated application in hard rock underground mining environments.
• deliver software products that natively integrate and interoperate (e.g., importing material properties into numerical models, exporting joint orientations into stability analysis modules).
• Ensure the software suite is fully compatible with standard corporate IT environments, specifically Windows 64-bit systems.
• Demonstrate compliance with data protection and privacy laws (such as Rwanda Law No. 058/2021 or equivalent international standards), including appropriate technical and organisational measures for data security.

All interested service providers should submit an Expression of Interest together with the following supporting documents:

• Cover letter introducing the company or individual consultant, confirming interest, availability, and understanding of the assignment.
• Company profile, including technical capability, qualifications, professional registrations, and relevant geotechnical experience.
• CVs of proposed personnel for technical assist clearly demonstrating rock engineering/geotechnical engineering numerical modelling proficiency and technical IT assist.
• Summary of at least three similar software supply contracts undertaken in the last five years, including client name, project scope, and contactable references.
• Certificate of domestic company registration issued by RDB.
• VAT registration certificate
• Valid tax clearance certificate issued by RRA.

Expressions of Interest received after 11:00 AM local time on 30 September 2026 will not be considered.

Shortlisted respondents may be invited for further technical discussions to confirm capability and suitability. Thereafter, Trinity Metals may issue an invitation to tender to selected qualified bidders.
