MINE PLANNER

U.H Mining Company Ltd, a member of the RANI Group, is a growing mining company engaged in the exploration and extraction of strategic minerals in Rwanda. The Company is committed to safe, efficient and sustainable mining practices and is expanding its mechanized mining operations.

Position Summary

The Mine Planner will be tasked with developing short, medium and long-term mine plans, optimizing production schedules, coordinating mine development activities and supporting efficient extraction of mineral resources.

Key Responsibilities

• create short, medium and long-term mine plans.
• produce production schedules and mine development programmes.
• Design underground development layouts, stopes and haulage plans.
• track production against approved mine plans and recommend improvements. 
• Work closely with Geologists, Surveyors and Mining Engineers to optimize extraction. 
• produce mine designs, production forecasts and technical reports.
• track ore reserves and reconcile production data.
• Ensure compliance with mining legislation, safety and environmental standards. 
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in mine planning, preferably in underground mining. 
• Experience with mine planning software such as Surpac, Deswik, Datamine or MineSched is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in remote mining locations.
• Good proficiency in both Kinyarwanda and English. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
