JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Gardner

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO : Maintenance Manager

DATE:22/04/2026

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

A gardener is tasked with maintaining and improving outdoor spaces such as gardens, lawns, parks, and landscaped areas. This includes planting, watering, pruning, and ensuring plants remain healthy and visually appealing.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plant, water, and fertilize flowers, trees, shrubs, and lawns
Mow grass, trim hedges, and remove weeds
Prune trees and shrubs to keep shape and health
track plant health and treat pests or diseases
produce soil and plant beds for planting
Operate and keep gardening tools and equipment
Clean and keep outdoor areas (paths, patios, garden features)
keep the wellness of hotel gardens
Install and keep irrigation systems (if required)
Any other duties assigned by competent authorities

Minimum qualifications and experience required

An advanced level certificate (A2) in agriculture, irrigation or relevant disciple with at least 3 years of working experience as a gardener.
Basic knowledge of plants, soil, and gardening techniques
Ability to use gardening tools (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, shears)
Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Attention to detail and a passion for plants and landscaping
Should have a clean disciplinary record of work
Having worked in high end Hotels will be added advantage.
Should be ready to start working as soon as possible.
