Environment Safeguard Specialist

Job Responsibilities

- assist and guide environmental and social safeguard activities in the intervention areas.
- Record and deliver adequate responses to complaints from project beneficiaries.
- Ensure effective integration of environmental and social safeguard considerations into all aspects of project identification, consultation, planning, and implementation.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective mainstreaming of environmental and social safeguard issues into project implementation.
- make sure that project activities are consistent in their approaches to environmental and social safeguard issues, thereby supporting full operational integration.
- Work closely with relevant District and Sector staff within the intervention areas on all environmental and social safeguard processes.
- produce all documents related to environmental and social safeguard processes and activities, including MoUs, agreements, and related documentation.
- Ensure contractors comply with environmental protection and safety rules during implementation and maintenance phases.
- deliver regular social safeguard inputs to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities.
- Follow up on social aspects at project sites.
- Perform any other tasks as required or directed by RWB management.

Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Water Resources – 3 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Master's Degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management – 3 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Science – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Master's Degree in Applied Social Science – 3 Years of relevant experience.
- Master's Degree in Environmental Management – 3 Years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Economics – 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Master's Degree in Environmental Economics – 3 Years of relevant experience.
