Accounting Specialist

Headquarters/ Office of the Finance and Projects

Review, analyze, and validate financial records, reconciliations, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
Prepare and interpret complex financial analyses, management reports, and financial statements to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Monitor and strengthen internal controls, financial governance frameworks, and risk management practices to safeguard church assets and resources.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting systems, financial procedures, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accountability.
Coordinate and provide technical support during internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations.
Conduct financial performance reviews, budget monitoring, and variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to management for improved financial stewardship.
Mentor and support accounting officers and finance staff by providing technical guidance, capacity building, and quality assurance in financial management practices.

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with an Advanced level in professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CPA or CFA is a must.

-Master’s degree in Accounting or finance is an added value.

-Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or financial management.

Experience with accounting software and financial reporting systems.

Experience in non-profit, faith-based, or large multi-branch organizations is an added advantage.

Fluent in English/French in writing and speaking. Skilled in Microsoft office Suite.
